The International Trade Team, based at Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber's Chesterfield headquarters at Canal Wharf, has scored a first - by taking one of its training programmes abroad to Dublin.
It was first Chamber of Commerce on the UKTI Passport to Export programme, and has been looking at ways to take delivery of its international trade operations and procedures qualification (ITOPS) overseas.
International Trade Team manager David Hood said: "ITOPS is a vital qualification for anyone dealing overseas, and the Chamber has been particularly successful in delivering the training to companies in the East Midlands and around the UK.
"We decided to take our own and look to export our expertise. A number of overseas markets were identified and after research through, Ireland was highlighted as a first step market."
After providing a suitable training brief and pricing, Chambers Ireland accepted the offer and the first course is due to take place in March in Dublin with a follow up programme in October - possibly in Cork.
Mr Hood said: "We're very proud of the achievement."
