CHARITY BALL in aid of COPS UK at Chatsworth House

Care of Police Survivors (COPS) will be the beneficiary of the Chatsworth House Charity event organised in memory of the late Derbyshire police officer, DC Gary Freeman.

Gary was only 36 years old when he was tragically killed whilst on duty for Derbyshire Police. He had served the force for nineteen years, working in both Chesterfield and Alfreton. This year is the fifteenth anniversary of his death and partner Angela, with their son George, wishes to commemorate his life.

Angela states " COPS was set up in 2003 and is a charity dedicated to helping and supporting the families of police officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.  We have been so grateful for their support and just wanted to give something back by organising this event in memory our much loved Gary. When police officers go out on duty, they never know what harm they may face".

The Ball will take place in the Cavendish Rooms and Carriage House Restaurant at Chatsworth on Friday 11th June, tickets costing £65 with discounts for large groups. This includes a welcome drink, a 3-course meal with grand auction, raffle and live entertainment provided by the wonderful Al Needham Band.

One of TV's best-known investigative journalists, Mr Roger Cook will also feature as a special guest, known for his extraordinary work exposing criminals.  Roger was always on the side of justice for all and is a survivor himself after suffering many beatings in the course of his work.

Sponsorship opportunities and prize donations would be most welcome.  Please contact Gary's family for any further details and ticket reservations at ar.morgan@btinternet.com , telephone 07976 357054 and visit the website www.ukcops.org  for more information on this charity.
