More LEP Views Needed

With just a few weeks remaining until the government's deadline for the first draft Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) bids to be submitted, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce is keen to generate as much support for the proposed Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire LEP.

LEPs are being introduced to replace the regional development agencies, including emda, in promoting business growth. The Chamber has been actively promoting the establishment of a Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire LEP. The two counties share common businesses, supply chains and workers and a two-county LEP will provide strategic leadership on establishing local economic priorities at a difficult time with public expenditure cuts and the need to encourage the growth of the private sector necessary to exploit new market opportunities and technologies.

The Chamber wants to help build a powerful entity that can maximise the benefit for business in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire and develop a dynamic economy, but in order to do so, it needs to generate as much support as possible from the local business sector.

As such, if you support the creation of a Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire LEP, please take a moment to sign our online petition on the issue by clicking here.

The Chamber has also set up a brief online survey to determine which functions local businesses believe the proposed LEP should facilitate and you can take this survey by clicking here
