Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce (DNCC) has launched a new mobile phone application aimed at helping businesses stay up to date with all the latest news and information about the Chamber.
Available as a free download from the Apple iTunes store and Android Market, the app offers content from the Chamber's website as well as links to its social media networks.
It was developed by Chamber member Crosby Associates Ltd and is targeted at Chamber members, but will also be available to the wider business community. Some of its features include:
The app was developed following recent DNCC research, which found that just 20% of local businesses use smartphone applications to market their products and services.
DNCC Chief Executive George Cowcher said: “As the third largest Chamber of Commerce in the country, the DNCC is pleased to be at the forefront of harnessing the very latest technology to engage with members.
“The recent boom in smartphone popularity has changed the way in which people access information, interact and communicate with each other and this new app will complement the Chamber’s existing communications channels and its presence on social media networks such as Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Google+ and Facebook.
“Although the Chamber is a membership organisation, it is first and foremost a business and as such, it needs to constantly look for new, innovative and cost effective ways of improving processes and doing things better and this new app is one way of connecting better with Chamber members and the wider business community.”

The app is available for the Apple iPhone and iPad, along with smartphones and tablet PCs which use the Android operating system. It can be downloaded free from iTunes and Android Market by searching for “DNCC”.
