John Robinson, MBA, MSc, DipM, MIEx(Grad)

John is an experienced and energetic export consultant and trainer. He is the home study tutor for the ‘Management of International Trade' module of the Institute of Export's Diploma, as well as being the Deputy Chief Examiner for the Institute.  A very effective communicator with knowledge of a wide range of commercial and industrial environments, John specialises in the engineering and environmental sectors in Western Europe and South America.  He was the preferred International Trade trainer for the pre-merger Nottingham Chamber of Commerce for a number of years, as well as designing and running in-house courses for many East Midlands and National companies.

Simon Bedford

Simon Bedford has enjoyed a successful career in export sales and marketing in the private sector. This has involved running a large export department and extensive travel overseas particularly in the Middle and Far East, Africa, and the USA.

Over 30 years he has developed new and existing business through direct sales or establishing local operations. He now works independently with private clients primarily on export development, market research, and runs his own export training courses.

Simon is on contract to UK Trade & Investment as a Regional International Trade Adviser. In this role he works with companies looking at an alternative to direct export including setting up a branch office, local distribution company licensing, Joint Venture, or wholly owned subsidiary.  Simon is an Associate Lecturer in International Business and Marketing at Hallam University, Sheffield.

Yvonne McCarthy

MIEx(Grad), DGSA(Road)., Certificate of Management (Open), has a wealth of experience having co-ordinated an Export Sales Department with an International company. She has lectured at New College, Nottingham, on the courses for the professional examinations of the Institute of Export. Yvonne's specialist knowledge is on Hazardous Goods Procedures and she has gained the IATA qualification for processing of dangerous goods by air.   Yvonne is also RSA qualified for NVQ assessments and an Internal Verifier. She also presents most of the courses and is personally responsible for the monitoring of the high quality of all SRL Associates courses. Yvonne also holds City & Guilds Micro Teaching Stage 1 towards the Further & Adult Education Teaching Certificate, and BTEC Intermediate Award for Customs & Excise Procedures."
