Event Description

Enterprising Women Networking Luncheon
Barbara Cathcart, Chief Executive of Nottingham University Hospitals Charity
27th April 2012, Park Plaza Hotel, Nottingham
12.00noon - 2.00pm

We will be joined by Barbara Cathcart, Chief Executive of Nottingham University Hospitals Charity. Barbara helped establish the charity from its beginning in 2006 and now leads a team of people devoted to providing enhanced care for patients.  The Nottingham Hospitals Charity is unique in that 100% of its fundraising activities directly benefit the patients, staff and facilities of the city's hospitals.

The Charity has supported the £1.75 million development of Dundee House at Nottingham City Hospital which now provides state of the art facilities for people with heart disease, including a bespoke gym and the award-winning Breast Institute, which provides diagnosis, screening and treatment for women with breast cancer.

Barbara originally worked in publishing and advertising, specialising in travel and tourism publications including spearheading the retail sales division for Air Canada's inflight magazine and becoming Associate Publisher of an upmarket city magazine in Toronto.

Having made the switch from publishing to non-profit organisations, Barbara has used her skills to help raise millions in donations and campaigns. As Development Manager at Women's College Hospital in Toronto, Barbara was responsible for negotiating the largest contract it had received in its history - over $1.4 million for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Taking all this into account Barbara will have a fantastic story of life in business and the challenges she has faced along the way.

This event will be a great opportunity to extend your existing network of contacts and share advice and experiences with fellow women in business. We will address common issues that businesses in general face on a daily basis but from a women's perspective, giving you the opportunity to see how you can improve and challenge your business and yourself.

We hope you can join us at what we promise will be a productive and informative event with ample opportunities to network with like-minded individuals. The cost to attend will be £25 + VAT for members and £45 + VAT for non-members. This will include a two course luncheon and welcome drink.
