Event Description

A bi-monthly meeting, the Nottinghamshire Members' Council directs the Chamber's lobbying activities on matters on uppermost concern to members across the county.

With a wide-ranging agenda that covers the interests of a broad cross-section of the DNCC membership, these issues vary from transport to red tape, business taxation or skills in the workplace. The Chamber's top priority is supporting its members through the worst effects of the recession, and uses its Forums, Bank of England and MP consultations to bring-about face-to-face engagement with the business community.

This particular meeting seeks to examine:

  • The implications of further announcements about public expenditure cuts on current and future lobbying campaigns.
  • Business involvement and geographical coverage of new Local Enterprise Partnerships that are to be created following the decision to scrap regional development agencies.
  • The economic performance of Nottinghamshire as outlined by the Chamber's Quarterly Economic Survey.
  • Opportunities to take advantage of local authorities looking to privatise some of their services.
  • An update on current campaign activities and identification of issues for the Chamber's forums covering International Trade; Property and Construction; Manufacturing and Engineering; HR and Carbon reduction and also the networking lunches and breakfast meetings across the county.

Meetings rotate around the county on member-premises; book your place by clicking the online reservation facility. For more information, contact 0115 957 8761.
