Event Description

Katie Bard is hosting a Mock Tribunal in conjunction with Shoosmiths
Solicitors and the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce.

Our friends at Shoosmiths have offered their services, for this must attend event, to
present an interactive Mock Employment Tribunal, with an emphasis on audience
participation. The event will focus on a case of unfair dismissal, which will be linked
to the topical issue of redundancy with an element of discrimination. It will not only
prepare attendees for how to handle claims, but will assist with regard to
implementing and planning redundancies and re-organisations'. This event will help
prepare attendees for real-life Tribunal hearings.

The latest figures from the Tribunals Service annual reports show an increase of
29% relating to cases of unfair dismissal cases and of these types of cases those
relating to redundancy both in pay and failure to consult have risen by up to 48%.
The event will be presented by members of Shoosmiths' employment team, who are
trained advocates bringing realism and Tribunal experience to this event. At the end
of the session we will provide an opportunity for attendees to put their questions to
the Shoosmiths' team.

This is a free event as Katie Bard, Shoosmiths and the Chamber of Commerce
recognise that this is a particularly difficult period for companies and feel this event
