Businesses in Buxton, Glossop and the High Peak have the chance to raise issues and put their questions directly to their new MP, Andrew Bingham, at a lunchtime business briefing.
The event is the first in a programme of MPs Business Briefings hosted by the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce, with the aim of bringing local politicians and the business community together.
The informal round-table discussion will take place over a light lunch, giving Chamber members and representatives from other local firms the opportunity to discuss current economic and trading conditions. It takes place at the Palace Hotel in Buxton between 12noon and 1.30pm on 17 September 2010.
Although there is no set agenda, some of the issues for discussion could include the local impact of austerity measures introduced by government in the Emergency Budget and how the forthcoming Autumn Spending Review may affect the constituency, along with the campaign for High Speed Broadband provision in the High Peak.
Mr Bingham will be joined by Chamber President Richard Wilkins and representatives of the Chamber's policy unit.
Mr Wilkins said: "We look forward to welcoming representatives from the High Peak business community along to this event, for what is sure to be a lively and informative discussion.
"These events are all about giving firms the chance to engage with and put their questions directly to their local MP about a whole range of matters affecting their business.
"They also allow the Chamber to keep abreast of local business issues, which is extremely useful when it comes to determining the lobbying priorities and objectives for the campaigning it undertakes on behalf of its members."
