DNCC Policy & Representation

DNCC Policy and RepresentationThe Voice of Business

Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber is the leading voice for business and we represent our members and the wider business community on local, regional, national and international issues.

How Do We Do This?

Working with our Member Councils for Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, working with our sector forums such as MET4, Derby and Derbyshire Rail Forum, The Skills Forum and through vehicles such as the Quarterly Economic Survey and also through the relationships we have developed with our partners such as GOEM, emda, Business Link, the local authorities in both counties and the SSP's and many others.

We are here to represent you - our members - and want to hear from you on issues that affect your business.

We value your opinion so please let us have it. Click here to Have Your Say!

We also require your thoughts regarding topical developments affecting your business, and our membership. On an occasional basis, we post consultations online - alerting you that there is an incoming local or national issue in which your opinion matters.

Our team are here to help. For more information please contact John Dowson, Head of Policy and Representation by telephone on 0115 933 0000 or email john.downson@dncc.co.uk.

Shaping The Region's Response To The Current Economic Climate

Regional Economic CabinetDerbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce's Chief Executive, George Cowcher has been appointed to represent the East Midlands Chambers of Commerce as a member of the Regional Economic Cabinet. The overall purpose of the Cabinet is to assess current activity in the East Midlands, identify the barriers to joined-up working and challenge existing organisations and programmes to enhance their responses to the changing economic situation.

In order to do this effectively we need your input to ad hoc surveys on specific issues and the Chamber's Quarterly Economic Survey.  In the meantime please let us know what barriers your business or organisation is facing in the current economic situation. We would also welcome any suggestions that you may have for overcoming these.

We would be grateful if you would indicate ways by which local authorities and other public sector organisations could support your business and the economy?

Please e-mail your views to John Dowson, Head of Policy and Representation on john.dowson@dncc.co.uk. He can be contacted on 0115 9330049.
