Lobbying & CampaigningThe Voice of Business

Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber is the leading voice for business, and we represent our members and the wider business community on local, regional, national and international issues.

How Do We Do This?

Working with our Members' Councils for Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, and our
sector-specific forums  (Manufacturing and Technology, Carbon Reduction, HR and Construction), the Chamber also makes use of  vehicles such as the Quarterly Economic Survey and  the relationships it has developed with partners such as GOEM, emda, Business Link, and the local authorities in both counties, amongst others.

We are here to represent you - our members - and want to hear from you on issues that affect your business.

We value your opinion, so please Click here to Have Your Say!

We also require your thoughts regarding topical developments affecting your business, and our membership - we post consultations online - alerting you that there is an incoming local (or national) issue that could affect your business. The collective weight of your opinion really makes a telling difference. Only through your input and active participation are we able to develop the activities outlined in our campaign plans.

Our team are here to help. For more information, please contact John Dowson, Head of Policy and Representation on 0115 957 8757 or email john.downson@dncc.co.uk.

Going for Growth and Tackling the Deficit

Regional Economic CabinetDNCC recognises that the new coalition government will need to provide the stability, leadership and direction to enable business to lead the economic recovery.

Restoring confidence and rebalancing the economy away from an over-reliance on the public sector is essential, together with taking advantage of the competitive edge the weaker value of sterling provides our exporters.

Cuts are inevitable - though they need to be the right ones - and the Chamber will play its part in working with the new government to meet these obligations without affecting our priorities for business growth - for this reason, DNCC has outlined a 14-point plan that takes account of all these priorities.

In order to lobby effectively on behalf of its membership, the Chamber needs your input to snap polls on specific issues and the Quarterly Economic Survey.  In the meantime, please let us know what barriers your business or organisation is facing in the current economic situation. We would also welcome any suggestions that you may have for overcoming these, or questions you may have following the recent Hustings events that DNCC brokered with MPs and prospective political candidates in the run-up to the recent General Election.

Please e-mail your views to John Dowson, Head of Policy and Representation on john.dowson@dncc.co.uk. He may also be contacted on 0115 957 8761.
