Lobbying & Campaigning

Lobbying & CampaigningThe Voice of Business

Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber is the leading voice for business, and we represent our members and the wider business community on local, regional, national and international issues.

How Do We Do This?

Working with our Member Councils for Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, and our sector-specific forums such as MET4, HR and Construction, the Chamber also makes use of  vehicles such as the Quarterly Economic Survey and  the relationships it has developed with partners such as GOEM, emda, Business Link, and the local authorities in both counties, amongst others.

We are here to represent you - our members - and want to hear from you on issues that affect your business.

We value your opinion, so please Click here to Have Your Say!

We also require your thoughts regarding topical developments affecting your business, and our membership - we post consultations online - alerting you that there is an incoming local (or national) issue that could affect your business. The collective weight of your opinion really makes a telling difference. Only through your input and active participation are we able to develop the activities outlined in our campaign plans.

Our team are here to help. For more information, please contact John Dowson, Head of Policy and Representation on 0115 933 0000 or email john.dowson@dncc.co.uk.

Shaping The Region's Response To The Current Economic Climate

Regional Economic CabinetDerbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce's Chief Executive, George Cowcher has been appointed to represent the East Midlands Chambers of Commerce as a member of the Regional Economic Cabinet.

The overall purpose of the Cabinet is to assess current activity in the East Midlands, identify the barriers to joined-up working and challenge existing organisations and programmes to enhance their responses to the changing economic situation.

In order to do this effectively, we need your input to ad hoc surveys on specific issues and the Chamber's Quarterly Economic Survey.  In the meantime, please let us know what barriers your business or organisation is facing in the current economic situation. We would also welcome any suggestions that you may have for overcoming these, or questions you may have for the upcoming Hustings events that DNCC will broker with MPs and prospective political candidates in the run-up to the General Election.

We would be grateful if you would indicate ways in which local authorities and other public sector organisations could support your business and the economy.

Please e-mail your views to John Dowson, Head of Policy and Representation on john.dowson@dncc.co.uk. He can be contacted on 0115 9330049.
