ShopWatchIntroducing ShopWatch

ShopWatch is a Crime Prevention Scheme for local retailers facilitated by Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce.

The scheme works in partnership with a number of interested parties with the overall objective being to make Chesterfield a safer place to shop.

To maximise the benefits of ShopWatch the scheme is now also being extended to include urban shopping areas as well as other small towns in the North Derbyshire region.

ShopWatch members are provided with Radios which are used to alert other ShopWatch users, along with the CCTV Control Room, of any incident or suspicious activity.
The CCTV Control Room is also in radio contact with the Police and will alert them if necessary. There is no registration fee to join ShopWatch just a small weekly charge for radio rental (which includes maintenance and training).

If a ShopWatch scheme does not operate in your area it may well be possible to establish one. Schemes can be established in any area where CCTV cameras are deployed.
